International Synthetic Biology Competition

The iGEM Competition is the place for thousands of passionate students to push the boundaries of synthetic biology by tackling everyday issues facing the world.

iGEM began in January 2003. What started as an independent study course for college undergraduate students, grew over the years into the amazing competition it is today, housing more than 350 teams and reaching more than 40 countries.

Now, college, graduate and high school students have the chance to compete, and showcase their hard work and love for the enchanting world of synthetic biology, while addressing unique challenges and building the world of the future!

This year, the meeting point is set in the beautiful city of Paris. It is where us and the rest of the teams in this open and innovative community, will get to display their final projects!

Join us in our adventurous journey! If you want to follow us on this trip, all you need is to get informed from our site and follow us on social media!
